About Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital
A passion for exceptional, personalized, and appropriate emergency care for your pet.
After working as an emergency veterinarian for several years, Dr. Sue Andrews and her husband, Lee McKenzie, purchased the practice in 2013 with a vision for substantial growth. Originally a nights, weekends, holidays ER, in 2015 the practice expanded its hours to 24/7/365. After outgrowing the facility quickly, a new plan needed to be hatched. Driven by Lee’s technology background and love for the profession, he made it his personal mission to design and build a modern, state-of-the-art hospital that could serve the burgeoning needs of pets and their families throughout Johnson and Tarrant Counties. With Dr. Andrews at the helm clinically, Lee tackled everything from finding the land to construction, hiring, building a culture of caring, integrating the pet resort, developing relationships with primary care practitioners, and most of all, letting the community know Burleson Animal Emergency Care was there for them, 24-hours a day. The result is a thriving emergency hospital that proudly leads the way in the region for clinical excellence while compassionately meeting the needs of those who love pets – just like we do.
